Investment Overview
The Okulacere Project is a run-of-river hydropower plant on the Anyau River in Yumbe district, West Nile.
Specifications: - Proposed capacity: 7.26MWp (Hydropower) - Design discharge: 6 m3/s - Ecological discharge: 0.85 m3/s - Annual energy production: 24.7 GWh/year - Turbines: 2 Francis turbines, each rated 3.63MW - Catchment area: 750 km2
Water conduit system runs 3km+ from dam to forebay. Power evacuated via 33kV double circuit line to Arua substation. Feasibility study finalised through French Government (AFD) grant, undertaken by Tractebel. Detailed environmental/social study to be done by prospective developer.
