Investment Overview
The Maziba Small Hydro Power Plant is located along the Nyakizumba River (Maziba River) in Maziba village, Maziba subcounty, Kabale District, South-Western Uganda.
The plant has an installed capacity of 1MW and ceased operation in 2001 due to silt accumulation in the dam and deterioration of electromechanical equipment. The plant is due for rehabilitation, mainly the electromechanical and substation equipment.
This brownfield project offers faster time-to-power compared to greenfield developments, with existing dam infrastructure and water rights already in place.
